Rocks refuse to be held to ransom
Bognor have refused to be held to ransom by transfer targets in their fight against relegation.
The Rocks have given up their chase for a long-term target after he demanded up to £575 a week to help them beat the drop.
Joint boss Michael Birmingham had been tracking the defender for months and agreed a loan with his club but admits the deal is now dead.
Birmingham said: "We were willing to match the player's basic salary but he wanted us to match his various bonuses too and that could have costed us nearly £600 a week if we played twice a week.
"That is way out of our league but the thing that annoys me most is that he is not even playing for his club at the moment so he is not collecting those bonuses anyway.
"We offered him the chance of first team football but if people are only in it for the money then we are not interested anyway."
